It is common for employees and managers to have the perception that Internal Auditors act as the watchdogs or are the police for the organization. This is because Internal Auditors will usually try to find mistakes within the organization. However, actually, the purpose of an Internal Audit is to identify how an internal auditor can help management to achieve business objectives through evaluating internal controls, risk management and governance.
Even in 2015 The Institute of Internal Auditors has changed the International Professional Practice Framework and determined the Mission and Core Principles of Internal Auditors, which will help Management to achieve the business objectives.
In this framework the mission of Internal Auditors is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insight. It is important for Internal Auditors to implement this. Afterall, how can Internal Auditors change the organization, which he/she audits, if they are unable to give an example on how Internal Auditors can enhance their own performance?
Further discussions on how the change and how Internal Audit can help organizations be better will be further discussed in our training that will be conducted on 26th and 27th October 2015. Please register and attend this training, which we update and conduct every year, by call 319 227 27 or email to training@widyapresisisolusi.com
