On 22nd June 2016, the Ministry of Finance released the Ministry of Finance Regulation no 101/PMK.010/2016. This is with regards to the change of Non-taxable Income for 2016 which has increased by 50% in comparison to the non-taxable income of last year. The new regulation has been determined as follows:
a. Non-taxable income for Individual tax payers which was previously Rp 36,000,000 becomes Rp 54,000,000.
b. The new additional non-taxable income for married tax payers is now Rp 4,500,000 from previously Rp 3,000,000.
c. Additional Non-taxable income amounting to Rp 54,000,000 for the spouse's income. This was previously Rp 36,000,000.
Although this regulation still requires an implementation guideline from the Tax Directorate Regulation, based on PER 32/PJ/2015, companies that withhold employee tax income need to revise the monthly tax report for article PPh21 from January to June to implement this regulation, as this new non-taxable income regulation is in effect from January 2016.
